Tuesday, May 1, 2007 - I'm sorry to begin the month with this sort of comic, but I felt like I should draw something.

This morning, Yuoo was riding his bicycle to work. His workplace, the Etheratory, is built around a wooded park area, and there are a lot of squirrels in the area. (the small, non-talking kind, I mean) Well, as Yuoo was bicycling close to his workplace, he wasn't paying enough attention to the sidewalk, and he ran over a squirrel. :( He stopped to see if the squirrel was okay (not that he could do much to help, but it's still the thought that counts). The squirrel slowly walked a few feet into the woods and climbed into a bush. It might have suffered a broken bone, but Yuoo hopes the squirrel will be okay. From now on, he'll pay more attention to the sidewalks.

Top Panel: During his lunchbreak, Yuoo likes to take short walks around the building grounds. As I might have mentioned before, the Etheratory is built upon what was once a park, so behind the main building there's still a walkway and a pond.
Left: There's a certain oak tree there that seems to have a built-in place for sitting. Occasionally, Yuoo sits there for a few minutes, relaxing in the silence.
Right: Today during his walk, Yuoo found an egg sitting in the tree. He looked at it and concluded that it's too big to be a chicken egg. Geese sometimes stop by the pond, so it's probably a goose egg. Yuoo would like to think that it might hatch, but it's probably abandoned. He decided to leave the egg alone, just incase the mother does come back.
Sunday, May 6, 2007 - Some of Yuoo's coworkers are creating a short film, a nature documentary / music video. You see, this film features teeny-weeny microscopic organisms, filmed and photographed using fancy machines. So, where does the music come in? Well, they're setting the film the music of "Dark Side of the Moon," by Pink Floydermouse. Like... totally far out, dude!
Today, Yuoo met with a friend, Mrs. Map, to sing and play music for some elderly residents. Yesterday, Yuoo met with Mrs. Map for a two-hour practice session. Unfortunately, the residents seemed to be a bit overwhelmed by the amount of "soul" in the music. Next time, Yuoo and Mrs. Map will tone it down a bit, making it a little more traditional.
Oh, Yuoo also visited Rainbow Abbey today. The leader there is a wombat named Abbess Sandy.
Saturday, May 13, 2007 - Today, Yuoo saw the movie SpiderMonkey 3. It was pretty good, especially the ending.
Since tomorrow is Mother's Day, Yuoo tried to call his mom, but it turns out that she's attending a two-week-long reunion trip with her highschool class!
Today, someone offered Yuoo a chance to win a piano. He considered buying a ticket, but then he realized that he wouldn't be able to fit it into his house, even if he won it.
Sunday, May 20, 2007 - In honor of Disney/Pixar's next movie, Yuoo cooked some Ratatouille for lunch. Though he didn't have a chef's hat, he did read the directions in his best imitation French accent (which isn't very good).
Thursday, May 25, 2007 - For the past couple of weeks, a forest fire has been burning on the northeast edge of Loblolly province. (Maybe I should call it Smog-lolly now.) Actually, it hasn't been very bad where Yuoo lives. But ocasionally, on days like today, there's a thin blanket of smoke over the town. This morning, Yuoo wore a paper-fiber mask over his muzzle as he bicycled to work today.
For the past two days, the Etheratory has been holding a magician's convention, where really smart creatures meet all day long to talk about the newest ideas. Yuoo spoke with one of the ether-mages, and she told him that they've been discussing "photon-free lasers," or something like that. Anyway, since this is an all-day event, the magicians have breakfast, lunch, and dinner catered to them. Divining the mysteries of the universe can sure make you hungry. :)
Also, is working on a very late Mother's Day gift. He bought the fabric and the patterns for it last Saturday, and he'll sew it together this weekend.
