Today at school, Yuoo saw a news crew giving a report about dogs that can use their noses to diagnose cancer.
Let's see... what else happened today? Well, in the student union, there was a don't-eat-meat display. On one hand, this made Yuoo happy because he's a vegetarian himself, and he thinks it's a nice way to make the world a better place. On the other hand, the display bothered Yuoo because it had some very morbid pictures and statistics, and Yuoo doesn't wish a guilt trip on anyone. While he doesn't agree with the veggie-club people 100%, Yuoo still thanked the volunteers for their message.
Yuoo rode his bicycle to school today, and often when he exercises or undergoes stress, he starts to feel bad. He starts to worry about things he shouldn't, and he starts to get angry about things he shouldn't. (Then why does he ride his bike? Well, he needs the exercise, and it helps conserve fuel.) Anyway, as Yuoo was riding home, he remembered the don't-eat-meat display and the morbid pictures at school, and it made him feel bad. Sometimes, he dwells too much on the sad things of the world, and sometimes he worries that maybe somehow he is to blame for them.

Sunday, February 12, 2005 - Today was an interesting day for Yuoo. First, he had a good time at Mortar Abbey. Today Abbot Rains gave a message about Mysticism. This is a mysterious thing practiced by the creatures of Mortar Abbey. It is something that is more valuable than anything in the world, and it can not be earned or obtained by merit, yet Aslan gives it as a free gift to any creature who will trust him enough to ask for it. I will speak more on this later.
Also, Yuoo auditioned for a movie today. As he was heading home from Mortar Abbey, he saw a sign that said "Auditions." Out of curiosity, he followed the signs, and before he knew it, he was reading a script in front of a camera! :) This audition wasn't for any movie in particular but rather as a general audition for the Loblolly film school to use in a future film. The only thing that bothered Yuoo was that some of his lines contained unclean words, and Yuoo doesn't like speaking unclean words. He asked auditioners about this, and they said it was fine if he changed some of the words on the script, and he made a note about this on his audition paper. Personally, Yuoo thinks he did a lousy acting job, but you never know, do you? ;)
Tuesday, February 14, 2005 - Happy Valentine's Day, A-CHOO!! Yuoo is sick with the Fennec Flu, so his day hasn't exactly been pleasant, but he did manage to get into the Valentine's Day spirit. Two voles were selling flowers as part of a Valentine's Day charity fundraiser, so Yuoo bought a white carnation to wear on his ear.

Yuoo is now almost completely recovered from the Fennec Flu, but during the past few days (especially last Thursday), things were quite unpleasant for him. He stayed home from school Thursday and slept the whole day through, getting up every few hours to eat and to partake of healing herbs. Even though he was weak, he did take a couple of short walks outside, enjoying the wonderful sun and fresh air. Yuoo might have been very uncomfortable for a while, but he was not unhappy because it helped him appreciate being alive.

Well, Yuoo is better from the flu, and he's enjoying himself. School is getting busy, and Yuoo is afraid he did poorly on a test last Wednesday, but he's still happy to be alive. This evening, he watched "The Chronicles of Narnia." He had already seen the movie once, but he enjoyed it again.
Also, Yuoo went to the office supply store to buy some ink pens for himself and a ream of recycled paper (100% post-consumer) for his office. His office gets supplied with all the paper they need anyway, but Yuoo feels good buying recycled paper for the office ocassionally, even if it's with his own money. He also started a paper-recycling bin there, and he keeps a candy jar in the office stocked with candy for anyone eat. Yuoo knows that what he does won't make a huge impact on the world... but somehow he feels better doing it, as if that's what he's meant to do.
When Yuoo first came to his office, he found several "hot vixen" pinup posters on the wall. (All of the office workers are males.) Well, these posters bothered Yuoo, so he took the "worst" of the posters down. Though he didn't like the other posters, he didn't take them down because this is a shared office, and he didn't want to be too much of a nuisance for his co-workers. (Even though Yuoo disaproves of their type of fun, he still doesn't want to ruin it.) Well fortunately, Dr. Corgi came into the office, and she took all of the pin-up posters down, saying that it violated the gender harassment rules. After that, Yuoo went to a poster store at the mall and bought a beautiful panoramic mountain scene to hang in the office (to make up for the posters that got taken down). Yuoo's co-workers probably don't appreicate the mountains quite as much, but at least it's something.
