Also, the school year is wrapping to a close, and Yuoo worked through the night and into the morning on a report. He didn't get the report quite as complete as he would like, but he submitted an acceptable report just a few minutes before the deadline, which was eight o'clock this morning. The report was about FORTRAN, one of the more ancient forms of Lexicraft.

Sunday, December 4, 2005 - Today, Yuoo went to the mall and saw the latest Hairy Otter movie. Yuoo enjoyed the special effects, but he found it a bit creepy.

Today, Yuoo was given a free mug as a promotional gift from a chewing gum company. Yuoo also gave a class presentation today on a subject called Steganography, which surprisingly has nothing to do with dinosaurs.

Well, Yuoo's exams are over. He's going to be working on one last project, and he'll be taking care of school business for next year, but for the most part he's just waiting for his parents to arrive and for his grades to come in. This Christmas, Yuoo is going to visit Aurrin's family. Yuoo has to make sure that he doesn't get sick before the trip, so he went to the school clinic for a free Influenza vaccination, and he'll be drinking lots of orange juice and taking lots of vitamin C.

Note: The mice are much bigger than in the picture above. In Yuoo's world, the size difference among the species is less than that of the animals in our world. Of course, an elephant is going to be bigger and heavier than a mouse is, but not by quite as much. (In our world, think of it as comparing a sumo wrestler to a horse-racing jockey.)

Thursday, December 22, 2005 - No comic today. Whew! It's been quite a week, and many exciting things have happened, and I'd love to do Yuoo justice by writing a grand diary entry for him today, but I'm just not in the mood for that right now. So, I hope he doesn't mind if give you the bullet-point version:

• Yuoo finished his exams, and he tried working on one last project, but inspiration and clear thinking were not with him.
• Yuoo's parents arrive at his house. Yay! Mom and Dad! He hasn't seen them in several years.
• Lots of wonderful talk and catching up. Yuoo shows them the holes in the walls the plumbers made when temporarily fixing a leak.
• The next day is Graduation Day. Yuoo still doesn't know for sure if he passed that one hard class, but he's too caught up in the pagentry to care. The graduation ceremony is very long and taxing to one's tail-bone, but still it was exciting. It was also cold and rainy after the ceremony. Cold and wet! Cold and wet! Everyone rush to the car!
• That evening, Yuoo watches the movie "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" with his parents. He enjoys the movie very much. It makes him glad to be alive. All of it: exams being over, graduation, parents, movie, everything-- make him glad to be alive. :-)
• Yuoo visits his old childhood hometown. A few sad memories emerge. Good thing he doesn't go there too often.
• Yuoo's parents leave. A few nice goodbyes.
• Wake up, run some errands, and play games.
• Today, plumbers came early in the morning, fixing all of the pipes. There are still holes in the walls, but those will be fixed soon.
• Oh, yeah. Christmas at Aurrin's house is cancelled because of plumbing and carpet work. :-( Yuoo gets to visit for New Year's though. :-)
• Oh, and the "mounted present" turned out to be a replica of an ancient Beaver Tribe hatchet, mounted in a glass case.
• Yuoo got to pick out his Christmas present early this year, so he asked his parents for a Light Tablet, a magical artists' tool.

Friday, December 30, 2005 - This morning, somebeast delivered a "POD" to his house. PODS are "portable on demand storage." In other words, it's a place for Yuoo to keep all of his furniture while new carpeting is put into his house. A ferret in a large truck arrived with the POD. Interestingly enough, the POD had a set of wheels, pumps, and gears that it used to lift itself off of the truck, set itself onto the ground, and roll itself into Yuoo's driveway. The ferret did all of this without even touching the POD or the truck. It must be some form of telepathy!

Today, Yuoo will be loading whatever he can carry into the POD.

Also, today a Christmas present from his brother arrived in the mail. It's one of his favorite video games that he used to have as a kit.
